Filming locations on Movie Scene Map come from public sources, and every pin says which:
the production's own Wikipedia articles,
in English and twenty six other languages; filming
location statements on Wikidata (CC0);
two national film archives; the filming permits cities publish; and published sources (see
about).
Video games,
anime and
manga are filmed nowhere: their places are where
they are set (narrative
location). Quotations are Wikipedia's own words under
CC BY-SA 4.0,
and a machine translation of one says so. Photographs are from
Wikimedia Commons, each credited
with its licence. The site's code and fonts are credited in
the list of licences. Coverage is as
complete as volunteers and archives have made it: some productions have no location recorded, and some
only a country, which is too coarse to map.
