United States is on this map as a whole country rather than as a place, because Wikidata records 111 video games, 5 anime and 3 manga as set here and nothing finer. The dot sits at its centre, which is not where anything happens: it stands in for the whole area. Nothing is claimed to have been filmed at this point, and no film or series is placed this way anywhere on the atlas.

Set here

Video games and Animated films that take place here. None of them is filmed anywhere, so this is where the story is set rather than where a camera stood: a different claim from everything above, and kept under its own heading for that reason. The rows marked per its source work are placed by the book they adapt rather than by a statement of their own.

Set here, per Wikipedia

Games whose English Wikipedia article says they are set in United States, where Wikidata’s narrative-location statement stops at the country. Still a setting and not a shoot, and still a sentence rather than a statement: two steps from the strongest evidence on this atlas, and labelled at both.
